Autonomous vehicle start-up Zoox recently revealed its self-driving robotaxi, which is said to be "built for riders, not drivers." As such, the fully electric autonomous design boasts a design that sets itself from regular cars by retaining only the carriage component. As Zoox sees it, the future of self-driving vehicles is not about trying to retrofit next-gen technology into conventional car designs.
The boxy, carriage-style design of the EV has sliding doors on both sides and bench seating so that passengers can face one another. While some autonomous cars incorporate wheels and other command centers, this one doesn't have any driving controls on the interior. With four-wheel steering, the EV has the ability to reach speeds of up to 75mph.
