The Zigzag Grandma Lamp by Nico Goebel is Made Out of Cardboard

Due in large part to the name of the Zigzag Grandma Lamp, the surface of the light fixture may bring to mind the look of a knitted sweater. Perhaps the deception was purposeful. In reality, it wasn't made using needle and yarn. Instead, the Zigzag Grandma Lamp was created out of cardboard. It is the zigzagging edges of the cardboard pieces that make it appear as though it were a different material.

Designed by Nico Goebel, a designer based in Munich, Germany, the Zigzag Grandma Lamp is shaped like a saddle. Although the silhouette is quite modern, the choice of colors has a retro feel. The bright orange frame and brown cardboard is almost a quintessential '70s pairing. Nevertheless, the lamp emits a soft ambient glow.
