YouTube Connect Introduces a New Livestreaming Competitor

YouTube is reportedly working on a new app called 'YouTube Connect' to bring livestreaming to the king site of online video.

YouTube Connect will have features similar to the existing livestreaming apps such as Periscope and Facebook Live, such as chat and tagging. In order to use this app, users will be able to log in with their Google or YouTube credentials and begin a livestream video recording through their mobile devices. The videos will be able to be viewed through the mobile app or on desktop and the content of the livestream will be uploaded to the user's existing channel.

With Facebook and Snapchat claiming to be nearing the eight billion video view point, it's not surprising that YouTube is stepping up its game with this new feature.
