Arthur Drooker Captures the Annual World Clown Association

Earlier this year, Arthur Drooker took his trusty camera to the annual World Clown Association in order to capture what many people might think of as the epitome of fun and happiness. Full of cheery faces both painted and not, the event brought like-minded individuals to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Northbrook, Illinois, where it was held this year.

The World Clown Association was shot for the book project, Conventional Wisdom. This book series has taken a look into fetishes, Abraham Lincoln, ventriloquists and more. Now it turns its eye on a childhood staple. 200 clowns showed up to the World Clown Association this year, making it rife for great photos. People from all over the world came to the convention including Japan, India and England.
