Yuji Tanabe Designed 'Surfer’s House by Swell'

The beach isn't often a space that houses architectural innovation, which is what would make Yuji Tanabe's wooden surf house such a unique sight on the beach in Kanagawa, Japan.

While still a concept design, this wooden structure would enhance the look of the beach while serving as a shelter for beach goers. The structure consists of the summer tower, the winter tower and the view tower. All three components offer different viewpoints to access the conditions of the water, prior to hopping on one's surf board. Other features include a covered parking space for cars carrying beach-ready items, as well as a sitting area with a view of the water and a space where one can maintenance their board.
