Castle-Inspired Office Buildings

Olafur Eliasson Created a Fairy Tale-Grade Whimsical Office

Danish artist Olafur Eliasson often collaborates with architectural firms on projects, offering creative direction and input, but in 2018, he completed his first-ever standalone building — a whimsical office space for the headquarters of Kirk Kapital.

This first from Olafur Eliasson is located in Vejle Fjord, Denmark and clearly draws inspiration from the structural integrity of fortresses. Much like in fairy tales, the whimsical office is erected in water and is connected to the dock by a footbridge. Although it is Kirk Kapital's headquarters, the first floor of the building is made available to the public.

The intention behind the placement of the whimsical office and its shape is to celebrate the environment of Vejle Fjord, as well as the magnetic forces of wind, light and earth.
