Haynes Captures Weightlifters Intensity, Endurance and Strength

Self-proclaimed "A Norwich boy who happens to shoot heroes" Philip Haynes captures weightlifters in their most intense state in his latest series The Crossfitters. The photographer has created a series of pictures that perfectly captures every single detail of intense concentration and strength by explicitly displaying the athlete’s intensity, endurance, determination and pain.

On his personal photography style, Haynes prefers "to use hard light in a sculptural way to depict my models physical structure. It is all about the shadow and highlights. I love my images to be punchy and colorful."

Regarding to the production of the image, Haynes looks to retain the energy and power of the intensity using color images to attempt to reflect the same level of energy and power back towards the viewer.
