Thanks to Australian start-up Vostok Space Beer, astronauts and other extraterrestrials may soon be able to enjoy a cold beer in the vacuum of outer space. This venture is being done in partnership with 4 Pines Beer and Saber Astronautics and is named for the Soviet space program that first put a human into orbit. Researchers have been toiling away for the last eight years on what would be the first beer for space and have boiled down most of the issues to the bottling.
Vostok Space Beer claims that they are putting the final touches on a space beer bottle that is purposefully designed to meet the myriad of circumstances that beer may face in space. This project may seem like a novelty venture, but Vostok Space Beer is hoping that its product could eventually find its way into space tourism and may even become the only beer that future Mars colonizers drink.
