Super Absorbent Vodka Tampons

If you haven’t already heard of this, you are probably going to cringe and the thought of it. Vodka soaked tampons are a trend that has gained media attention in recent years. Apparently teens are using vodka tampons as a way to soak up vodka and other alcoholic substances before inserting them in to their vaginas and rectums. Vodka tampons are especially dangerous when inserted in to the vagina, and cause you to feel nauseous just thinking about them. The TV show The Doctors even featured a segment on the dangerous trend of vodka tampons. It seems as if teens will go to any measure in order to get a quick and easy high on alcohol. Reports have also claimed that users prefer vodka soaked tampons because it eliminates an alcoholic odor on their breath. By eliminating the smell of alcohol on your breath, it encourages users to drink and drive- knowing that should they be pulled over, the cop might not smell alcohol on their breath. Without this dead giveaway it would be harder for ride police to detect alcohol consumption in drivers. Additionally, the vodka tampons trick is especially popular with young teens living at home with their parents. These teens can get the same high they would from drinking alcohol, but be able to come home without it reeking on their breath. Lets hope vodka tampons are more of an urban myth than an actual trend.
