Virtual Clubbing

MTV's Virtual Lower Eastside

Due to the popularity of virtual clubbing sites like the hip party venues in Second Life or sites like Virtual Ibiza, MTV has launched their own version to allow party lovers to enjoy their favourite night activities at any time, from the comfort of their computer chairs.

The coolest part about Virtual Lower Eastside is that the clubs featured actually exist in one of New York's hippest neighbourhoods, the places and people all exceptional recreations of their real life forms.

The graphics may not quite be up to par with Second Life quality, but the site is an extremely innovative way to explore new music and tour through one of a virtual rendition of this southeastern Manhattan neigbourhood.

Tthe Lower East Side is home to many live music venues," Wikipedia backs up. "Up and coming alternative rock bands play at Bowery Ballroom on Delancey Street and Mercury Lounge on East Houston Street, while lesser known bands play at Tonic (closed 4/13/07) on Norfolk Street and Rothko (now closed) on Suffolk Street. There are also bars that offer performance space, such as Pianos and the Living Room on Ludlow Street and Arlene's Grocery On Stanton Street."
