Vibia Introduced the Lightweight 'North' Lighting Series

Designer Arik Levy of Vibia created a series of lights that imitate the concept of space -- specifically the light emitted from the sun over the year changing in both position and height. The collection is entitled 'North' and it includes both a floor lamp and a suspended lamp in order to create a floating effect. The name is coined in reference to the visual qualities of north light because it diffuses light while avoiding harsh shadows.

The lamp features a rod made by carbon fiber in order to sustain something that is lightweight and can hang from the ceiling easily. The counter-weight sitting at floor level leads an electric wire from the round shade to a wall socket for illumination.
