Facebook Launches the Venue App to Run Along Side Live Events

The Venue app was recently released, which was created by the New Product Experimentation team at Facebook. The app was created to be used as a secondary display that can be used during live events. The Venue app can provide a platform for commentators, which will run alongside a live event. The app can also display ‘moments,’ that reference an event with comments, interactive questions, pools, and more.

The New Product Experimentation team commented on the new platform, "With Venue, fans can stop scrolling or searching to find the exact moment everyone is reacting to."

Facebook will collaborate with NASCAR to release content on the app, and Tim Clack the SVP for NASCAR and Chief Digital Officer, commented on the collaboration, "will provide users with a unique and exciting way to connect with fellow race fans from around the globe — all from the safety and comfort of their own homes."
