The Venture seating system by Lije Studio repurposes 6.3-millimeter steel tubing used in the oil industry into a modular public seating system. Designed by Jens-Egil Nysæther and Line Mari Sørra, the benches combine curved and straight pipe sections with smooth wooden saddles positioned across the metal framework. The seating elements retain the industrial scale and visible tubular geometry of the original material while adapting it into outdoor furniture forms.
The system was developed in collaboration with landscape architects and is designed for multiple spatial arrangements across plazas and public environments. Venture features open seating layouts without backs or fixed directions, allowing people to sit from different angles around the structure. The benches preserve the exposed steel surfaces while contrasting the wooden detail.
