Ford has announced the vehicle-to-vehicle charging feature that will enable drivers to share their driving range with others in the event of a power outage or emergency. The new feature has been announced for use with the F-150 Lightning and the F-150 Hybrid that both require the Pro Power Onboard system to allow drivers to share power with others. The charging is reported by the brand to add an average of 20-miles of range for every hour of charging with a Mach-E SUV.
The Ford vehicle-to-vehicle charging feature will be able to be used with a charging cable that supports any vehicle that utilizes an SAE J1772 charge port to help open up power sharing capabilities for a wide range of drivers.
