Showy Red Reading Rooms

The New University Library at the University of Amsterdam

The University Library of the University of Amsterdam was redesigned by Amsterdam-based designers Studio Roelof Mulder and Bureay Iro Koers. The space recently won the Serve and Facilitate Great Indoors Award.

Aside from housing books, the University library contains study rooms, workstations, an information center, a canteen and an automated book collection area. The student areas are minimalistically designed and resembles a modern showroom more than a traditional library.
