'Bare Bones' is a unique domino set created by 'The Principals' for lifestyle brand Billy Reid. The collaboration between the two teams of designers takes inspiration from their varied backgrounds in architecture and industrial design to bring a twist to the classic domino.
The set of double-six dominoes retains the iconic black-and-white coloring, but re-imagines other aspects like materiality, shape and numbering. Bare Bones takes its name from the primitive appearance of the set. Some elements that reinforce this rawness include casting the dominoes in concrete in unexpected angular shapes and using lines in the place of dots to indicate numbers.
To celebrate the release of the boxed sets, Billy Reid is hosting a tournament at its New York location on May 18th, 2013: be sure to bring your competitive side.
