Arched Cave-Like Abodes

This Unconventional Home in Mumbai is Like an Organic Living Oasis

Snug, cozy and very different from anything you've ever seen, this unconventional home design may be a little on the small side but it definitely makes up for it with a lot of turquoise pizzazz.

At 65 square meters, this unusual abode was designed for a young couple by architectural and design firm The White Room. Following the couple's wishes for something original, practical and well-spaced out, the design firm created this cave-like haven in the Bandra suburb of Mumbai, India.

Centered around arched ceilings and a vaulted design concept, this apartment may be compact but the design team was still able to carve out spaces for a kitchen, a master bedroom, a guest bedroom and bathrooms. Using folding screens to differentiate between some of the different rooms from the actual living space, the house is harmonious in its rustic palette of browns and white with a dazzling splash of turquoise.
