Withings 'U-Scan' Monitors Reproductive and Metabolic Health with Urine

Withings introduces the ‘U-Scan’ an at-home hands-free "urine lab" that attaches to your toilet to track reproductive health and nutrition levels. To use the device, consumers must attach the reader to their toilet and relieve themselves over the device instead of directly into the toilet water. The ‘U-Scan’ will utilize its thermal sensor to differentiate the urinary liquid from the water and detect who is urinating by tracking movement and distance. Consumers do not have to touch the device until its cartridge needs to be replaced.

The reader employs a microfluidic circuit to collect a sample after noticing that you are urinating. The remainder is subsequently disposed of, and flushing cleans the entire system. Each cartridge has a different function that targets measuring hormones, pH and hydration, vitamins, and more.
