With its traditional shape and wooden exterior, this two-part house does justice to the inspiration behind it. The design of this modern home was greatly influenced by birdhouses. From its form to the branch-like stilts one side of the two-part house rests on, it is hard not to think of it has a giant avian abode.
Created by CUBO design architect, the two-part house is dubbed 'cnest,' and is located in Kanagawa, Japan. It is meant to complement the natural surroundings while keeping the grove of zelkova and maple trees as untouched as possible. The cantilevered structure is beautifully modern within with both stark white walls and richer details such as stone counters and dark wood floors.
