Twitcident is Used to Help People Respond to Emergency Situations

Twitcident is a new social media platform that puts the millions of 140 character inputs that are being tweeted every day into use for emergency humanitarian use.

It analyzes credible tweets and filters information regarding the accident. Some of the information that can be gathered and shared though this new Twitter platform are the risks involved in a specific region, photos from the accident as well as the number of causalities reported.

The platform has been created with emergency service workers in mind, but can also easily be used by civilians. The theory of the platform is well-intended. If it's used diligently and on a wide enough scale, Twitcident could be an amazing invention that can not only prevent accidents, but perhaps save lives and do so in a way that it reflects our society's advancement profoundly.
