Check-In Charging Bars

Japan Airlines' New Travel Charging Kiosks Top Up Mobile Devices

Knowing how important mobile devices are to the modern traveler, Japan Airlines is now introducing travel charging stations that will prevent travelers from having to crawl under seats or wrap cords around columns in search of a plug.

Travelers passing through Osaka will now be able to stand or sit close to the check-in gates in order to give their mobile devices some extra juice before a flight through either a traditional AC outlet or a USB port. These stations take the form of bars, which were intentionally designed with seats that are more functional than comfortable in order to ensure everyone has a chance to charge their devices.

Since one of the airline's biggest focuses is to appeal to travelers with technology, these new charging stations support Japan Airline's mobile app, e-boarding passes and in-flight Wi-Fi service.
