The idea of a transparent toilet with two-way mirror walls isn't exactly new, but every time one is reintroduced, it stirs up the same amount of intrigue. This time around, one will be installed at the Glastonbury Festival for a good cause.
As part of an initiative by the nonprofit organization WaterAid, the 'Loo with a View' will be stationed to overlook the large Pyramid Stage—creating the illusion that more than 100,000 people are able to see someone using the transparent toilet facilities. The installation is meant to remind people that only one third of the entire world's population has access to a toilet. This transparent toilet simulates the experience had by many who lack the privacy and privilege many people take for granted every day.
In addition to its Loo with a View, WaterAid will also be responsible for supplying festival-goers with free water refill kiosks and a hygiene campaigner.
