The Transmutation Pavilion is an Eco-Friendly Sight Seeing Spot

Designed as a proposed large, public, solar-powered, interactive, functional art structure, The Transmutation Pavilion offers a practical approach to building construction that allows people to live comfortably in a more eco-friendly manner.

The Transmutation Pavilion is a blueprint by eco-artist and designer Michael Jantzen, who is well known for producing building plans that merge art, technology, engineering and sustainable practices into one unique experience. The structure consists of three interlocking cylindrical forms of varying sizes. These forms incorporate two large, overlapping shutters that can be opened or closed to various degrees to accommodate inhabitants.

As the shutters are opened or closed around the three different-sized cylinders, they vary the total spacial volume in interesting ways that can completely alter both the shape of the structure as well as the outside views as seen from within the Pavilion. Staircases are also located throughout the structure to give visitors the chance to view the landscape from ever-changing perspectives.

The Transmutation Pavilion is powered by a large solar cell array integrated into the shutters. All the solar energy not needed to power the building is sent directly into the local grid for the community in which the pavilion is built.
