Traffic-Updating Buses

Transport for London Now Has Buses with Real-Time Traffic Updates

Transport for London has designed traffic-updating buses that will have traffic read-outs on the back of the buses.

The new TfL traffic-updating buses are designed to help improve traffic in London by informing drivers behind buses where delays are occurring. This is the first time that buses are displaying real-time traffic information. The electronic boards use GPS technology to provide the real-time traffic updates to drivers behind buses. Currently the traffic-updating buses are only running on the route 344 line between Clapham Junction and Liverpool Street.

The high-tech change to London's iconic buses could happen to all the buses in London if the route 344 trial proves to improve traffic congestion in the city. The buses are aiming to make the commute for drivers more efficient.
