Alstom Supplies Toronto Transit Commission With 60 Flexity LRVs

Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) welcomes 60 Flexity light rail vehicles (LRVs) to the city, courtesy of Alstom. The unidirectional streetcars meet Toronto's readership demands and growing needs. The Flexity LRVs include an all-wheel-drive for simple operation.

The new TTC streetcars include five modules that work on a zero-emission light rail system. In addition, its light rail technology is customized to TTC specifications to accommodate the city's special streetcar network requirements. The 60 new LRVs add to the TTC's pre-existing fleet of 204 streetcars.

Alstom has also supplied 480 Toronto Rocket subway cars to the TTC. Furthermore, the Alstom is providing the city's transit company with a communications-based train control railway signaling solution on Line 1 Yonge-University and the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension.
