Illuminated Metropolis Models

The 'Tokyo City Symphony' Reimagines Tokyo as a Work of Art

In commemoration of the Roppongi Hills building in Japan, an extremely accurate miniature model of Tokyo called 'Tokyo City symphony' was created. Along with the model was a 3D projection which illuminates the cities and plays with building for an amazing effect. The projection is set to music, which is why it's called the Tokyo City Symphony.

The 3D mapping projections animate the city as if the model itself were morphing. Each building is made to seem like tiny inhabitants are controlling the lights. The resulting effect is beautiful and surreal all at once.

The model was created at the extremely small 1:1,000 scale in order to fit Tokyo into one room. Every building was meticulously crafted to represent the thriving metropolis as accurately as possible.
