This Japanese Museum Showcases the Toilet History of Toto Ltd.

Toilet company Toto Ltd. is opening a museum entirely dedicated to the toilet history of the Japanese mega manufacturer.

The museum will showcase how toilet history has evolved from classic toilet seats to smart toilets capable of all kinds of functions, from the convenient to the bizarre. The museum will exhibit 950 of Toto's products, as well as some replicas of Toto-designed prefabricated bathrooms, such as the ones that were installed at Hotel New Otani for the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Toto Ltd. developed its first classic flush toilet seat in 1914, and the rest is toilet history! Today, Toto toilets have built-in speakers, seat heaters and self-opening lids.

The toilet history museum will be located near Toto's showroom and will not charge admission.
