This Life-Sized Titanic Replica Ride Will Simulate the Sinking

A landlocked theme park in China will be home to a Titanic replica amusement park ride. The life-sized model of the doomed ship will recreate the fatal collision for visitors who board it. The Titanic replica will be permanently moored on the Qi River and and function as a history museum on the disaster.

The 'sinking' part of the Titanic Replica ride is described as a '6D' experience, utilizing sound, lighting, and simulated movement -- tilting and shaking -- to recreate the ship's collision with the iceberg and eventual sinking.

Actor Bernard Hill, who played the captain of the Titanic in James' Cameron's blockbuster film, has made his support of the project public by making an appearance during the press release. The actor is adamant that the Titanic replica is a respectful project and an educational opportunity fr the Chinese public.
