Tornado-Like 'Helix' Building Blows Them Away in Abu Dhabi

The stereotypical tornado shape may be unknown to the deserts of Abu Dhabi, but the American firm that designed it, Leeser Architecture, certainly must have been inspired by the spring storms that only occur in the U.S.

This 5 star luxury hotel will be in the Zayed Bay in Abu Dhabi. It's called the Helix because of the staggered floors. The hotel is partially over water and next to the serpentine bridge under construction.

Implications - The 'Helix' contains a staggering 208 guest rooms and features rooms and suites arranged around a helical floor.

Wow. That may be the most futuristic hotel I've ever heard of.
