The EDGE Clock Combines Timekeeping with a Bookend-Style Support Function

EDGE Clock is a concept by designer HoHyeon Lim that combines a desk clock with a stabilizing shelf accessory. Designed to sit in the corner where two surfaces meet, the object uses its form and weight to support books and small items while displaying the time. The spherical body is shaped to rest securely against shelf, desk or bookcase corners without requiring a stand, base or mounting hardware. An angled clock face improves visibility from above, making it suitable for shelves and elevated surfaces where traditional desk clocks can be difficult to read.

The design concentrates its weight at the edge so it naturally settles into a corner position. A hollow interior allows users to add coins or other small objects to increase the clock's mass and adjust its stability for different environments. This customizable weighting system enables the object to function as both a timepiece and a bookend. The concept is presented in a range of matte finishes, including green, orange, blue and charcoal tones.
