SONIC's New Teriyaki Burger Marks Its First Location in Hawai’i

SONIC is officially opening its first-ever location in the state of Hawai’i and its has created a new Teriyaki Burger to mark the occasion.

SONIC"s newest location will be in Kahului, Maui, inside the Ho’okele Shopping Center at 1110 Ho’okele Street. To celebrate the opening and pay homage to Hawaiian culture, the brand has incorporated elements from Hawaiian culture into the design of the restaurant. The brand has also created the brand-new SONIC Teriyaki Burger, which was developed exclusively for the Maui drive-In in partnership with the Aloha Shoyu Company. This burger features a pure beef patty topped with teriyaki sauce, a slice of American cheese, teriyaki aioli, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes, all served on a toasted bakery bun.

As Edwin Prather, Managing Member of SONIC Drive-In Hawai’i, explains, "From the building’s architecture, independent local ownership, and the staff that serve our guests – each element proudly reflects the local community."
