This year's TED Conference sculpture, 'Skies Painted with Unnumbered Sparks' in Vancover, Canada, is a 745-foot long aerial sculpture, created by Massachusetts-based artist Janet Echelman.
The project was funded by the artist herself. She believes the sculpture is "like a custom-knitted sweater for the city."
The high-tech fishing net sculpture blends in with the sky during the day and lights up at night with a series of powerful projectors. The interactive art piece lets you control the light in real-time by waving your phone in front of the sculpture. The shape-shifting piece is also controlled by the wind.
The conference begins today and goes until the 21st of March. The sculpture will remain at the conference until the 22nd and will then be taken to other cities for showcasing.
