For 2018, a beloved British footwear and clothing label is launching a series of tattoo Dr. Martens combat boots and a few accompanying streetwear designs. In the making of this capsule, the brand partnered up with three artists from the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan. The tattoo-inspired illustrations offer a great embellishment to the popularized footwear.
The collection consists of three distinct combat boot silhouettes. The first tattooed Dr. Martens is named '1460 Grez USA 8 Eye Boot.' Crafted in collaboration with Manhattan-based artist Grez, the model boasts a "traditional Americana-style tiger illustration." The UK variation is created by Chris Lambert, while Tokyo artist OT's tattoo Dr. Martens design boasts an intricate "contemporary twist to ancient Japanese carvings."
