Jelly Swarm by Tangible Interaction Teaches About the Sea

For those wanting to learn more about the mysterious world under the ocean, the Jelly Swarm by Tangible Interaction is a educational installation about the jellyfish’s environment. The Vancouver-based art studio Tangible Interaction and origami professional Joseph Wu collaborated to create an interactive art piece that explores the interaction between humans and the sea invertebrates.

The colorful display is made of 94 paper jellyfish and sensory lighting technology. The "jellies," as their creators calls them, are illuminated by an LED module that allows each piece to change color. The idea is to show how the system of jellyfish changes when there are human disturbances.

The Jelly Swarm by Tangible Interaction is exhibited at the Vancouver Aquarium until January 2, 2012.
