Tranquil Public Plazas

The 't Park is a Nature-Loving Workspace

CUBE Architecten designed 't Park, a plaza located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The multi-functional space was formerly an old storeroom, before the City of Amsterdam authorized its redevelopment. The plaza is the first step in a housing concept for the city's offices. The renovated space can now be used for meeting, collaborating or even socializing (there is a bar fully stocked with organic coffee and sandwiches).

Next to the reception area, the architects added space for play. Meant to emulate the environment of a park, the space is accessorized with suspended plant cages that are hung between real birch trunks. The earthy color palette of green, white and brown encourages a sense of calm and tranquility that is associated with nature.
