Sweden's Icehotel Site Will Be Adorned With a Solar-Powered Hotel

Sweden's Icehotel is a truly unique hotel, located in the town of Jukkasjarvi, that is literally made of ice, meaning it melts away each year and is replaced by a different structure in the following season. Now however, the site is set to be made even more appealing and versatile with the addition of a permanent solar-powered hotel that will be open year-round, so guests can continue visiting the site when the Icehotel itself isn't operational.

This new solar-powered hotel will be operated using solar energy harvested during the sunny summer months, making use of the vast daylight available up north during that time of year.

Sweden's Icehotel will begin operating its solar-powered sibling at the end of 2016, and will enable guests to enjoy the site all year round.
