RAPA Designs the Summer House on Lake Balaton in Hungary

The Summer House is designed by the architecture studio RAPA and can be found along Lake Balaton located in Hungary. The home is defined by its cantilevered structure with thatched surface accents made using materials sourced in Hungary.

It features three stories and is home to a family who were looking for a more intimate space to spend their summers. It rests on a hillside and has a flat-roof structure reminiscent of the 60s with stone cladding from materials mined in Tihany. Ádám Reisz, founder of the studio tells Dezeen, "Lake Balaton holds a special place in the hearts of Hungarians, often referred to as the Hungarian Sea. The design of the building itself responds dynamically and aesthetically to the stunning views of Lake Balaton, translating them into a visually impressive architectural statement."
