Upcycled Leather Furniture

Structural Skin is a Capsule Collection Created from Leather Offcuts

Structural Skin is a material-based experimental project and capsule collection by Spanish designer Jorge Penades that explores the disadvantages and wasteful production methods associated with producing leather. The Structural Skin capsule collection is comprised of two pieces thus far -- a clothing rack and a side table.

Rather than wood, the pieces produced are made entirely of leather offcuts and are meant to be three dimensional reinterpretations of the conventional uses of leather that have come to be accepted.

Penades is currently working on a way to create different colorways in order to give the collection range, while he also incorporates the use of any resin or chemical byproducts into the production of his new collection.
