American designer Rick Owns introduces his new collection of helmets that were originally a part of his FW 2022 menswear show dubbed Strobe. There are three helmets in total and they have a single and dual-prong strobe light that comes out of the shell, which makes it functional as a structural floor lamp as well.
He creates two helmets for the shoe that spotlights a different bar fixture and protrudes from the crown of the exterior shell. It uses materials including fiberglass and aluminum to create a rounded head with a shell that reaches over in order to cover the upper parts around the chest and back of the wearer. Owns explains "Helmets have Dan Flavin-esque fluorescent bulbs set into crown shapes that I kept seeing in the Egyptian temples and tombs I toured last October."
