Mathematically Contoured Lighting

The Straight Curve Lamp by Benjamin Migliore is Sculptural

The Straight Curve Lamp might be the result of a mathematical equation, but the design could easily be chocked up to a stunning art project instead. The sweeping lines are strikingly sculptural, which makes the light fixture as visually appealing as it is practical. It helps that it is made out of pale wood, which gives the peaked design a star-like aesthetic.

Designed by Benjamin Migliore, an industrial designer based in Barcelona, Spain, the Straight Curve Lamp specifically makes use of the parabolic arc. Comprised of 42 strips of white pine, the Straight Curve Lamp is meant to be hung from the ceiling. Yet again, the idea of a star comes to mind. The light source is found in the center of the lamp.
