DIY Sci-Fi Globes

This Tutorial Teaches You How to Upcycle a Globe into a Star Wars Death Star

The Our Nerd Home blog recently created a step-by-step tutorial on how to upcycle an unused globe into the Star Wars Death Star battle command center.

To make this DIY Star Wars Death Star, all you need is an unused globe and some paint. The globe needs to be covered in a light gray, then you can add horizontal and vertical strips of tape over top. This will create box shapes all over the globe to mimic the Death Star trenches. You can fill these boxes in with a darker gray shade. Don’t forget to leave a space for the superlaser focus lens and paint over the globe’s axle. Now you can spin your very own Death Star whenever you’d like.
