Commemorating Rockstar Constellations

MIRA Public Observatory Gives David Bowie a Star Tribute

With the recent passing of singer David Bowie, MIRA Public Observatory recently teamed up with European music radio station Studio Brussels to give the legendary rockstar a commemorative star tribute with his very own constellation. The constellation is designed to depict a large thunderbolt in the sky, in honor of Bowie's Aladdin Sane album cover.

The constellation features several different stars joined together to form a large-scale lightning bolt in honor of the colorful red and blue makeup Bowie adorns on the cover of the Aladdin Sane record. The constellation connects seven stars together close to Mars and was recorded on the day of Bowie's passing.

The act of honoring Bowie with a constellation is metaphoric to his legendary and timeless presence that will forever remain a part of the stars.
