Legendary jazz musician Stan Getz talks about how he regrets the years and the talent that he wasted on drugs in his interview from 1987 with Joe Smith. This time the interview has been animated with wording on the screen so that you don’t miss anything the jazz man says.
For a very long time the musicians abused drugs and alcohol, it was 45 years to be exact. The saddest part is that Getz doesn’t remember making most of his recordings. Stan talks about how drugs were in the culture long before they were reaching the public. He also explains that most of the musicians were stoned during some performances. One of the most interesting things noted he said was that even though they were stoned a lot of the time he says that they played well all the time because anyone can play well with practice. Definitely an interesting insight from Stan Getz.
