Goth Meets Spring Glam

Roberto Cavalli S/S ‘09

Panda eyes, statement jewelry and flowing sheer fabrics: Roberto Cavalli’s collection for Spring and Summer 2009 covered all the hottest trends.

Going well beyond the smoky look, the heavily dark and smudged eye makeup on the models was edging on Goth, giving the girls an intense and powerful presence. The jewelry included oversized designs inspired by Mondrian and something that looked similar to a puffed-up scorpion.

The fabrics were fluid and colorful, stripes dominated in lavender and lime green. A layered feathered effect was also present on Cavalli’s more formal gowns.
