Madrid-based international architecture firm A-cero and architect Joaquín Torres won an architectural competition for an academic research center that studies renewable energy sources in Murcia, Spain.
The winning project features a raised center landscape that blurs the limits between architecture and free space. Integrated exterior and interior spaces create a striking geometrical structure infused with vegetation. The building will use passive solar, photovoltaic panels, and other clean renewable energy sources as well as energy conservation.
