This spacious loft-style apartment in Rotterdam is the epitome of contemporary minimalism. The building is more than a century old and Eklund Terbeek — a Dutch architecture firm, was tasked with a revamp to satisfy housing needs.
The layout of the flat is largely informed by the mother in the family who is "a choreographer and dance teacher [and] wanted the room to rehearse at home." As a result, many design cues and layout features are oriented toward optimizing space and light exposure.
Eklund Terbeek transformed the interior of the spacious loft-style apartment in uniquely creative ways. A great example of this is the "short platform where inhabitants can sit and relax" which is located under the four arched windows in the main living area.
