Fuel-Free Solar Catamarans

The SoelCat 12 Carries 16 Passengers without the Need for Fuel

The SoelCat 12 is an electric catamaran that offers space for up to 16 passengers and requires no fuel in order to be used for cruising at a top speed of up to 14 knots. Featuring a range of 150 nautical miles, the catamaran can run for six hours using battery power with that figure increasing to seven and a half if the sun is shining.

The SoelCat 12 catamaran is completely outfitted with solar panels on the top portion of the vessel, which can be used to power onboard systems and even offer an unlikely functionality when docked. The catamaran can be hooked up to the power grid when docked in order to feed solar energy into it with the average energy collected enough for five households to be powered.
