Winter Vehicle Software Updates

Rivian Updated its R1T and R1S Wirelessly to Improve Winter

Rivian has released an over-the-air software update that will make its electric R1T and R1S models better equipped to deal with winter weather through the new 'Snow Profile' for driving, which softens throttle response to help prevent wheelspin, and a new Low brake regeneration setting that prevents wheels from locking up.

It also makes activating the Auto-Hold function a smoother experience for users. The update brings additional remote functions to the Rivian app, allowing users to defrost windows and door mirrors and turn on heated seats or the heated steering wheel remotely. It also includes updates to the suspension system and improvements to the regenerative braking system. The update will be available for download in December 2022.
