Smiley-Faced Pools

'A2arquitectos' Designs the Smile Pool

The Smile Pool is exactly what it sounds like: a pool designed by A2arquitectos that features a large smiley face that can be seen from a ways in the sky. The design is perfect for young kids, as it gives them something shallow yet different to swim in when on vacation.

The pool is in the Hotel Castell Dels Hams in Spain, and allows kids to splash around in safety, yet still manage to have fun and cool off. Indeed, the pool is the main visual draw of this area, as it can be seen from so far away, and even when one is laying down in the chairs nearby. This is an example of taking a traditional object (a pool), and doing something different with it to stand out. Photo Credits: designboom, a2arquitectos
