Smashbox Open Studios is a Residency That Supports Artists

Smashbox Open Studios is a new residency program from Smashbox Cosmetics that will help to support artists who are on a mission to redefine beauty standards. The program launched out of the famous Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles and over the course of the four-week incubator, artists got access to resources for refining and amplifying their work.

There are three new projects that have emerged from the program and they are all notable for the way they "push boundary-breaking beauty standards across cultures, generations, and genders." While Uzumaki Cepeda creates faux-fur environments designed as safe havens for communities of color, Gabriela Ruiz explores concepts of home, self and environment in mixed media and Randijah Simmons is a photographer and the co-founder of community creative studio The Babe Cave LA.
